We're looking for stories that might be used as part of prototype for a new TV series now in development. Some of the stories will be published on this site first.
If you are – or were – in a relationship that bridges/bridged major differences, please consider submitting a story. Whether the differences are race, ethnicity, religion, age, or financial background, we want to hear from you! (Note: if you're the offspring of such a relationship, please submit your story on this page).
Below are a few questions that will give you an idea of what we're looking for. They're guidelines, not a checklist, so please answer the questions that make sense to you.
Oh, and one more thing: you might want to read through some of the stories on this site before you submit your story.
- How did you meet?
- Describe your differences.
- Was there any point when these differences became a problem within the relationship? How have you tried to handle the problem?
- Give an example or two of how you've reacted to each other's differences.
- Give an example or two of how family, friends or strangers have reacted to you.
- Overall, what kind of impact – positive or negative – have these differences had on you personally? Did they challenge values or attitudes you had before the relationship began? What, if anything, changed for you?
Note that we're particularly interested in how the differences in the relationship have impacted your personal views, not just the differences themselves.
Please keep your story under 750 words, if possible.
